Default Clicking Checkout shows Cookies not enabled message

    Please help.

On Checking out on my zencart install I get this message:

    "Cookie Usage
We have detected that your browser does not support cookies, or cookies have been disabled. ....."

This is only on my primary computer, on other two computers checkout seems to work fine ( running Windows XP IE7, and Windows Vista IE8).

My install is version 1.3.9e with template apple_zen ( Changing template to classic did not fix the problem). The offending computer is running Windows 7 and I have tried this with firefox 3.6.8 and IE8 with same problem. The cookies are enabled on these browsers.

My concern is that this problem will show up on some client computers.

    Thanks

That message will only appear when the software attempts to set a cookie and is denied.
So, apparently your browser does *not* have cookies enabled.
Or maybe you're running in a privacy mode (which disables cookies while in that mode).
Or maybe you have personal privacy/firewall software installed which is denying cookies.

Yes, customers will see the message too ... if they've set their computer up similarly.

    DrByte: thanks for quick response.

I disabled the Norton AntiVirus, Shut off Windows 7 Firewall, set Internet explorer setting to the lowest level, cleared internet cache, history etc. restarted the IE8.
Unfortunately exactly same problem: as soon as I choose add to cart I get the Cookie message.

I have been purchasing stuff from many online sites from this computer before without changing any security settings.

It seems there is some unknown variable here, any direction on how to debug this will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

I am having this same issue. I first noticed it when clicking on the Zen Cart Manual purchase icon. It won't let me purchase the manual because I don't have cookies enabled . I have turned privacy to low and cleaned out temp files and it doesn't help. I am running Windows Vista with the latest IE browser. It is also appearing in the store I am developing locally. I would think that it is some error in the store's settings except that it happens to me on the zen-cart site and also the cucumbermedia.com site when trying to order the manual. I am also running Norton Internet Security. Any help would be much appreciated!
