Export Template Layout settings?

As settings regarding anything other than layout are generally irrelevant when attempting to duplicate a template (the fact that layout settings and templates seem to be segregated seems flawed to me) has anyone devised an SQL script that will grab all the layout settings for backup / re-use?

They are all in the "configruation" table

Well, as I see it the configuration table holds everything, including product groups? I see there is a Configuration Group for "layout Settings" - realisticly if all I wanted to back up was how the store looks rather then things specific to that shop such as shipping options and ez-pages, would I only need settings from this group (ID 19 for reference) or are there other groups that would be needed also?

possibly not product groups, but you get the idea - it's not just layout information.
