Installation Loop

Hi
I'm trying to install zen-cart-v1.3.9f downloaded from the zencart website. I am installing it on a server i have just deleted a zencart store from so the issue isnt a server issue. I have uploaded the files via ftp and set the appropriate file permissions but when running the installation from my browser the System Inspection gives a green light on all issues but displays the following

I then click install and get a page telling me

Problem Detected

Sorry, a problem has been detected.

This installer needs to be able to start a PHP session in order to complete installation.

Possible causes of this page being displayed include:

Perhaps a timeout has occurred

If you left the installation unattended more than 20 minutes, then the information you entered on previous screens is no longer available. In this case, you will need to begin the installation process again.

Please do not leave the installation process unattended for long lengths of time. Installation should only take 5 minutes under normal circumstances.

The server has no place to write its session files.

If you have not already made the "cache" folder writable, please do so now so the installer can continue. Details on making the files writable can be found in the Installation Instructions or in the online FAQs.

i then click the install button at the bottom of the page and i'm taken back to the System Inspection page?

Sorry its all a bit long, Any ideas anyone?

PHP Session.Save_Path = SESSION_WRITE_DIRECTORY -->Unwriteable 

The server has no place to write its session files.

Did you have a php.ini file before??

Its OK I've sorted it
In the file installer_params.php in the zc_install directory i changed the 3 entrys ../cache to ./cache and bingo no warning about the session.save_path and it all installs OK

I wouldn't trust that workaround. You'll likely have session problems.

Why don't you correct the unwriteable directory
