Remove search and currency from header

Hi,
I am new to ZenCart. Just purchased a template and am customizing it myself with the newest version of Zencart.

I would like to know how to completely change my header: ie, remove the search bar and remove the currency option.

Any help?

it would also e helpful if you cold post the contents of your

includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php

file as this is what normally holds this code.

Thanks, and how do I disable the search bar on top?
And while I am asking, my logo is obviously not displaying correctly. Can I make it go "out of the lines" on my top bar? How do I get the shadow to display correctly (it is currently a transparent GIF)?
