Digital Download File Size Cap?

Okay, so "until now" appears to mean "until I tried this new huge file size that I've never used before". Yes

The more information you provide, the easier it is to help ... ie:

What's the file type? (extension) .MOV
What's the file size/type for all your other working downloads? All files are .MOV, up to 1.6GB
What's your download-delivery method? ie: is Download by Redirect on or off? Is streaming on or off? Not sure really. They are all in the correct folder that I have renamed. All files are Valid in the downloads manager.
If you point it to a smaller sized file, what's the max size that it will serve properly for you? 1.6GB
What version of Zen Cart are you using? 1.3.8
What version of PHP? Don't know off hand, behind firewall at work so I cannot access CPanel/WHM

I'm guessing that there's either something in zen cart or on my server that has a cap on file size. But like I said, I can download the file from my server with no problems via FTP. Downloading via a browser does not work.

Zen Cart doesn't impose any maximums programmatically as far as downloading files is concerned.

What are your settings under Admin->Configuration->Attribute Settings ?

If you download the file via your browser by visiting your_site.com/download/the_filename.mov ... what happens?

Don't know, I deleted the file already since it was not working. It will be a while before I have a new version uploaded. Will let you know what happens. Thank you for your help.

Okay, so I asked my host about anything on their end that would cause this and they said they configured the server to allow huge files to be downloaded. They also suggested I change the Maximum file size in the Admin > Config section of zen cart.

So, now I cannot log into the admin area (username & pass just go blank), and when customers try to log into the store, it says "There was a security error when trying to login."

Okay, so I asked my host about anything on their end that would cause this and they said they configured the server to allow huge files to be downloaded. They also suggested I change the Maximum file size in the Admin > Config section of zen cart.

That setting is for *uploading* files, not for downloading.
As I said before, Zen Cart doesn't do anything to impose limits on sizes of downloadable files.
