Product Purchase Max Problem

Hi

I have been testing and everything is working fine but I have found that when a maximum product order per customer is reached the safeguard works great until checkout is complete then the customer can rebuy up to the maximum amount again.

Is it possible to have an overall max of a product or is this only on a per visit basis?

It could be something obvious I'm missing or could be a flaw perhaps?

It's just part of the business model but thanks for your input.

You could build in a special function that requires:

1 customer logged in to add to cart when the maximum is set

2 tests, logged in customers, number ordered in the past and prevents ordering more than the maximum - previous ordered

This does, as kobra indicated, take some custom coding ... but it could be done ...
