Changing the TYPE of image used in category items list

hey all.

i think i've had too much coffee this morning...and can't figure this one out!

i've changed my category items list to columnar (2 columns). with all that room - it would be much nicer to use the MEDIUM image (350px) in the display, as opposed to the small one (only 100px!).

what i want to do is change the image TYPE, from small to medium, displayed in product_listing.php. i'm too wired to find it!

i'm seeing the reference to 'products_image' - which i changed to 'products_image_medium' but that didn't work...any ideas before i fidget myself to death?

it's extremely useful for images, additional images and for faster loading.
read the description and see for yourself.

One of the main features is that you do not have to upload 3 images
(ie: _med _lrg _sml) the ad-on creates them and caches them, just put the size you desire to display and it will create a copy for that size (keeping the ratio)

hey evelt. thanks for the reply.

i've looked into image handler - and while it does seem useful, i'm not sure it would cover what i need it to. i'm not having an issue with the size of the images - i'm having an issue with WHICH image call is being made on the product listing page.

i'd MUCH rather just make the simple change to the template or module file that needs to be changed - instead of loading a whole new add-on just to cover this one issue. i guess i'm old-school like that.

In Admin>>Configuration>>Images you have several options for the sizes of the small images in various places....in the default zen cart if you have all these small ones different sizes, ZC will use the largest of those and the smaller ones will be browser adjusted...if that makes sense lol

With Image Handler 2 you can have ALL these smaller image sizes different and IH2 will handle the resizing for you, creating all the different sizes so that the browser is not loading for example a 300px image into a 100px spot, therefore saving on loading time...a simple short install time on the IH2 mod versus trawling through files trying to change which image is displayed...IMHO that makes more sense :)

while i don't disagree with what you said, as well as what evelt said, i'm EXTREMELY reluctant to let ANY browser handle the resizing of images. in my experience...that job is MUCH better left to photoshop and someone physically resizing the image (and sharpening, and lightening, and recoloring, etc, etc). i personally make all the images that my cart uses - and each one is handled a different way depending on how it looks on the screen.

i'm totally comforatble with going through the files...just can't find this one piece...
