Copy Product Price Manager Discounts

I have been going thru the forum here searching for a solution to a particular problem that I have.
I am adding items to my site by hand. (I cannot get EZPopulate to work correctly do to limitations on my hosting account with GoDaddy – no permissions to create the output file.)
OK, that withstanding, I am adding in my discounts (I have no attributes to add) just straight quantity discounts.
My issue is that I have to add them individually to each item that I am entering in.
This is not the end of the world, but I would be able to get so much more done if there was a way to copy the Discount Qty in the Product Price Manager.
Is there a method that I am missing, or have overlooked?

There is not a way to copy the Discount Quantities built into Zen Cart ...

However, this could be customized ...

This is made easier as you do not use Attributes, as Discount Quantities and Attributes are not friends ...

You appear to use the same Discount Quantities across your Products ... If this is the case, then this is even easier ...

Granted, my idea of easier is that you can build a less complex method of updating the products and products_discount_quantity tables to build the Discount Quantities across the board on your products ...


NOTE: you have some pricing issues on your Discount Quantities ... these could be related to how you have setup the prices:

Are you giving the Discount Quantity Prices based on Discounts on the Product Price or the Special Price?

When you add a Special Price, what should happen to the Discount Quantities?

If you base the Discount Quantities on the Special Price then when a Product with Discount Quantities are put on special the Discount Quantities will automatically reflect the discount based on the Special Price rather than the Product Price ...

You will notice in the product I posted, that your Discount Quantity Prices are moofy, as the Discounts are based on the Product Price without regard to the Special Price ... so it is almost like you want to penalize me if I want quantity 5 ...

If you were to change the Discount Quantities to be based on the Special Price, you would see this correct itself ...

Or, are you trying to offer the Special Price for quantity 1 - 4, but then lost the Special Price on the higher quantities? Weird as it sounds, I have seen sites that do this purposely ...

Thank you very much for the reply, and the detail that you go into with it.
I assume that the quirky pricing is a result of not setting up properly, allowing the special pricing to come into effect when the discount is give. I am going to have to look into that so that I can remedy the issue. (I just attempted to change the “If a product is a Special:” in my store, but did not see the changes take effect; I will work on this today.
The quantity pricing is indeed in effect store wide – simpler on accounting, and easier for customers to know what they are dealing with. (Not to say that there will be some that will not adhere to this, but they will be in the minority at best.)

I would much prefer a way to apply the discount pricing to the entire catalog, and take into account any specials that are currently, or in the future will be offered, and not have the issues that I am having now.

If you just edit that Product with the moofy discount in the Products Price Manager and change the:
Discount Priced from:

to be Special vs Price

I am assuming your are using a percentage on these ...

I am also assuming your Special is set to: 6.99 on this Product ...

I am also assuming that when you set a Special Price that you want the Discount Quantity Prices to now be based on the Special Price ...

I did look for the Special vs Price in the Product Price Manager, but I dont seem to see it.
(I may not understand what youare attempting to explain to me.)

On the Product Quantity Discounts ... look for the dropdown for
Discount Priced from:

And you can pick either the Price or Special ...

If you set to Special, then the Quantity Prices are built from the Price, when no Special exists ... and from the Special, when there is a Special on the Product ...
