red flag Optimize Database ....any risk?

Is there any risk with using the ADMIN --> TOOLS --> STORE MANAGER --> Optimize Database

Zen is working fine and I'm just concerned that if I push that button I may in fact break something

    Using version 1.3.9d

    Um ... Muzz,
There's no "risk" discussed in that post.

split63, it's generally safe to push that button. You probably don't need to, but you can. And doing it more than a couple times a month is unnecessary.
CAVEAT: If your database is *humongous* or on a poorly tuned server then you may experience some significant server slowdown and even have customers blocked temporarily while the server catches up. Best to do it during non-peak times.
NOTE: Anytime you're uncertain about such a thing, always be sure to do a full database backup first.
You should, of course, be doing daily database backups anyway. And more frequently if you're changing things via addons or doing mass maintenance activities.

    My Bad.

Just as the link provided shows someone whom did get a error. Though now resolved.

I would assume there is always a slight risk? Though unlikely.

I would assume risks would be escalated when using addons/mods or hosted server specifications?

    perhaps not!
    That wasn't the plan!
