Default GoDaddy slow - New to Zen

I am new to Zen Cart...3 weeks now. I have it hosted at GoDaddy and am close to having it set up how I want.

I have searched the forums and FAQs and see quite a bit of posts regarding GoDaddy being a slow host.

My site takes 10-15 seconds to connect on average. I have almost no product loaded yet and only a couple customers data.

I have optimized the dbase and enabled the zip (can't remember the name).

So....GoDaddy keeps telling me it is Zen Cart and after doing research on here and the web....I wish I had gone with one of the certified hosts listed here.

I am overwhelmed with the thought of doing a new install and having to rebuild my site on a new host. And have found the instructions on here to move my site and am almost as overwhelmed.

So my question is; Is GoDaddy really not the place to have a Zen Cart Site? Or any ecommerce site?

Thanks in advance and thanks for Zen Cart...it has been a pleasure to use.

GoDaddy is good at two things:
    a) selling domain names
    b) upselling all their other cash-grab services that aren't worth the money spent on them

Experience (hundreds of reports of problems) shows that you will be perpetually dissatisfied if you try to run a database-centric site such as Zen Cart on their hosting platform. (Those same reports are confirmed by way of moving to another host and instantly things work well: speedy and reliable.)

If all you needed was a handful of static HTML pages with no intelligence or logic or processing, then you could probably get by there. But ecommerce is way more advanced than that, and commands a more robust and contemporary hosting environment.

Will Blue Host be better? I chatted with them about my GoDaddy problems but the person I spoke to didn't leave me with a lot of confidence in their service.

Since I am in the early stages better to take the pain now of changing then latter. I am already perpetually frustrated at GoDaddy and it's only been a couple weeks.

    Thanks!

I have 12 carts running on godaddy and in all but one case the issue was on my side. I noticed you have two // after your domain name in your code. I'm not sure if that would effect your performance but it was the first thing that. Popped up

As a general rule I do not link my sites, but this one is just a test site, pretty much nothing but stock that i wipe from time to time.

All my other sites react about the same even after heavy mods and thousands of products

One other thing. I found Linux to be far quicker than Ms servers at godaddy but your mileage may very and I believe all godaddy servers are based in AZ and transoceanic may be impacted by that if u are across the seas...no idea though.

Not that this has anything.g to do with this but if you are 100 miles from them the actual routing is probably closer to 2000miles.
Change or remove your base href and see if that does anything

PS I usually write from a mobile devise so please forgive any mispellings
