1.3.9f grid layout not working

New install of 1.3.9f with grid layout module which is NOT working.

What am I doing wrong the grid layout will not work on the subcategory pages

Obviously we are just moving in.

I have looked all over the FAQs but none address this issue with 1.3.9f and none are written in 2010.

Please help.

Finally found it-- I need to set the layout to columns and the number in columns to 3 which I had, but missed the layout to columns section.
