Meta Tags - When the Product is the Same but is only variant on its Aesthetics

I have a store with the following Structure

Category 1
>>Design SubCategory 1
>>>>>>>>>>>40+ Products
>>Design SubCategory 2
>>>>>>>>>>>8 Products

Category 2
>>Design SubCategory 1
>>>>>>>>>>>20+ Products
>>Design SubCategory 2
>>>>>>>>>>>15 Products

etc....

Since the only real difference in my products (and the sub-categories which contain it) is aesthetic design. what is the better approach

This thread seems to suggest that I might wanna set up site wide tags in this case, which relate to the nature of the product itself, with a very generic description.

IF that is the case, what would be best for setting META up outside of what I set in: ncludes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/meta_tags.php ?

Normally, I dont bump threads I create which dont get responded to. However, I misplaced this into a password only section of the forums. Thanks to the mods for finding a better place for it.
