Layout and Functionality Questions

Hello,

I recently began working on a custom Zen Cart template, which can be viewed at: http://swatchbookweddings.com/shop/ I have hidden most of the blocks as I am working on the design at the moment. I am very new to Zen Cart, having worked with it only a couple days.

I can make CSS changes just fine, but I am wondering about some changes that may need to be made via PHP.

1. I would like to put a specific product description on the home page, instead of the default category view and I am wondering if this is possible?

2. I sell invitations and would like to know if it's possible to add text fields to a product description that a user fills out before ordering, such as name, date, message, ect., so the shopper can provide the text they want to appear in their invitation when they place the order? Ideally I would like to have these fields displayed on another screen - after the shopper picks their invitation design and add it to their cart they go to a screen where they enter their invitation text.

3. Similar to the above, I would like to know if there is a way to select the color of an item before placing the order? I did not see anything in the configuration settings to suggest this feature is built-in.

Since Zen Cart works with WordPress I am wondering if there additional modules/plug-ins so that I can add additional functionality to it?

for number 3, set up attributes to get your different colours

and for number 2 set a text attribute

And for number 1, create a category with just that one product in it, and:
Make sure Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Skip 1-prod Categories is set to True.
Then set Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Always Show Categories on Main Page = 1
And, finally, set Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Main Page - Opens with Category to the number (cPath) of the category which contains the single product.
