Default Custom Shirt Site - Suggestions?

I've been looking for a custom shirt design mod since the osCommerce days and it was impossible to find something back then for osCommerce. Maybe Zencart has made developments in this area?

When i say custom shirt mod, it probably sounds more complicated than it is.

What im trying to do is take a product page which has, say, 10 product option categories like Size, Colour, Collar, Cuffs, Armlength etc. and instead of having all the options appear on the 1 product page, i'd like to split the options across multiple pages, so Size on one page, Colour on the next page, Cuffs on the next page etc. so that when all product options are filled in, then the Add To Cart button appears and the customer can place an order. Maybe a tabbed product page with the different options on each tab?

Is there a mod out there to split up product options into multiple pages like this?

Having all the options for a custom shirt on 1 page makes it very long and uninviting...

And it's going to be more inviting to click through several pages to get one shirt set up? What if they change their mind on one option and have to go back and edit it?

I could perhaps see a javascript tab setup where all the options and their current selections are visible, and each opens to show its choices when clicked. It would be a bunch of custom work; Tabbed Products Pro in Free Addons might point the way to doing something like what you want.

Cool, thanks for that. Yeah, there doesnt seem to be a nice inviting way to go about ordering a custom shirt. The ideal website layout would be this one, they've changed it a bit though, they used to make you go through all the measurements while you select a shirt, looks much simpler now in that the measurements section is now attached to an account profile instead:

    www.lodgeandking.com

While selecting a shirt it just asks for 3 basic options which Zencart would be able to handle no problem. When you then go through the checkout, it gives you an option to edit your measurements for things like neck, chest, waist, hip, shirt length etc. ten options in total, this measurements option is on the checkout confirmation page, a bit like the edit address function on Zencart only there's an option to edit measurements.

They also have a button there when you login for either updating account details or "Update My Measurements". So it seems like all the measurements are now attached to an account profile instead of an actual product, which might make things easier.

Is there a mod that can be added onto someones account that lets you add extra fields to their account profile such as their measurements? A bit like Customer Extra Fields on osCommerce although slightly different to that. I'd prefer to have it so that its only asking you for the measurements when you checkout and not when you're registering the account like Customer Extra Fields does.

    Any ideas? thanks.

If you looke in Free Addons for customer extra field, you will find Extra Field on Customer Sign Up

Note: TheOracle's mod for the same thing is reputed to be buggy, and many people have struggled with it and given up.
