Default Nearly finished upgrading - Q about finishing 'store' directory

Whew - nearly finished upgrading to 1.3.9f.

Just a question about step 3 in the 3 'easy' steps...

It says "This can be done easiest by renaming "store_new" to "store". (You'll have to rename "store" to something else first.)"

I don't have a 'store' folder however... my store is just in the root directory, the httpdocs folder - browsing to the website address goes straight into the store.

I have uploaded my 1.3.9f intallation to a folder called ZC_139f, created a new db, imported everything from the old db into it, done all my testing, upgraded my new db, uploaded my images, template overrides, etc, into the ZC_139f folder, and everything is works fine when I go to my_url/zc_139f

So to go live, should I now download the ZC_139f folder from the server to my local PC, and then transfer the contents of the local ZC_139f folder straight into the httpdocs on the server? Thereby overwriting all files with the same name?

Hang on... that means that if there are any old files that don't have a new file with the same name they'll be left hanging around. So should I download the ZC_139f folder to my local machine, delete the entire contents of my httpdocs folder, and then upload the contents of ZC_139f?

    Thanks for any help!

Depending upon the time lapse/activity in your live shop you might need to place it down for maint & re-apply a current DB backup and perform the DB upgrade last time

Then Use FTP & create a folder like old_zc and move current ZenCart files &folders to this new folder
Move new files to your root
Edit the new configure.php files to reflect this move

This. if done correctly, should be all that is required and much faster than the down to local & up to server you referenced

Thanks Kobra, I got the upgrade finished at last.

I did what you suggested - much faster than my idea of FTPing down and back up again!

    Many thanks for your help.
