Default cannot determine database version during upgrade

I am unable to convert my 1.3.8 database to a 1.3.9. I have followed the 3 EASY STEPS TO UPGRADE ZEN CART. I loaded the demo site and demo product database with no issue. When I ran zc_install again to install 1.3.9 in a live site folder referencing my current live database, I am unable to upgrade the database. It says upgrade mode available, previous zen cart found, however the version of your database cannot be determined, usually resulting from wrong table prefixes, or other database settings mismatches. All of my database tables have the zen_ prefix. I copied the structure of the 1.3.9 demo database to a new database, then imported my 1.3.8 database into it. I changed the configure files to match this database then ran zc_install. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

When selecting upgrade db only there is a entry for prefix
You did not state that you entered it??

There are only two options: install or upgrade config files. I do not select "install" as it will clear the database I am told.

If you are Upgrading, make sure that your configure.php files are referencing the correct database, username and password ... plus the correct paths ...

NOTE: it is a good idea to upgrade a copy of your Live Database in an Upgrade database and a copy of your Live site in an Upgrade directory to ensure all is working before making your Upgrade site the Live site ...

lol -- yes you have ... but you just ignored it

It's there, but was really only needed when upgrading from v1.2.x to 1.3.x

I started over with a new install of version 1.3.9 and imported my 1.3.8 database with phpMyAdmin. Everything is working fine. Thanks for your inputs!
