Expanded Categories + Sub Categories -- but as LI's in a UL?

Hey everyone,

So I've searched for the expanded categories functionality and found only this:

Which is exactly what I want for the most part... except it doesn't tell you how to make it work. I installed it, it doesn't work, and no matter how many damn settings I checked though I couldn't find anything that made it work.


So, how do I make it so as my entire product category structure is expanded right off the bat?


Second, how do I make it so as the menu structure is in an unordered list (UL) like good design calls for, instead of the stock hackasaurus setting?

Okay so I installed that, and while I got it rendering everything in a UL/LI style setup... I now cannot get it to display all the categories expanded. The Ul/li thing is half the battle, the expanded categories is next and essential!

Well that wasn't helpful... neither is zen-carts search functionality... or the documentation...


The ch_category thing included with the category dressing should provided said functionality, but I can't get it to work. I've followed the miserable instructions included with both it and category dressing, and I either can't get it to work or... well who knows!


Why is it that the zen-cart community also doesn't how "demonstrations" for their plugins? I instead have to hope that the writers of your modules/plugins have the same terminology (which isn't standardized as best as I can tell for zen-cart). Demonstrations would be very useful.
