paypal payments not being accepted help

alright iv gotten 3 customers tell me the following

hello, i was trying to check out using paypal, but it will not go through. Do you know why?

at the check out part i logged into Paypal to pay for my thing and it wont
let me pass step 2 it keeps telling me Please select a payment method for
your order. when i did!

Well I tried to place my order but got nothing but complications and no confirmations, so I tried a couple times, I apologize if I put in several orders, I tried and like I said got nothing but problems, let me know if they went through

i dont have a clue what the issue is. im able to add the same items as the custom to the cart and go as far as the paypal log in screen (since i cant pay myself thur paypal with my own account)

but at the same time iv had other customers place orders no problem and pay with paypal...

nothing was changed from the admin or paypal side.
im running v1.3.9d

please help!

It's almost impossible to diagnose a problem like this without actually trying to complete an order.

Most here who use Paypal have a Paypal business account for accepting payments and a personal account for testing purposes. That should probably be your next move.

Also, the messages from two of the customers are way too vague to be of any help. I'd contact them to see if the specific problem they had was the same as the 'can't pass step two' one.

10-20 m customers now have had no issue.
one customer i contacted said he was clicking the paypal button to check out and this gave him the issue. he then clicked "the normal" check button and all was good.

i havnt yet gotten word back from the other customers if they tryed this or not.
