Default Editing the list of contries

Which file do I need to edit to delete a couple countries from the shipping/ billing drop down?

I found the list in the database. Is it safe to just click 'delete' button next to it? or will doing so mess something up?

( I have backed up my databse)

    Never mind. I got it.

For those who may need to do this.
I just went into database admin, and deleted a few countries that I wanted to. It did not mess anything up for me.

note: not sure if this was the proper way to accomplish this.

The *correct* way is to use the Admin->Locations/Taxes->Countries screen and use the Delete button there.
One should normally never muddle in the database.

Dang. I don't think I will ever know everything that can be done from admin. Thanks Dr.
