Default So confusing tpl_header.php, header.php... etc..

    Hello.
I just installed zencart and the lite-red template. It looks great but still have lots of problems. this is my web site and can anyone help me to delete the head menu (new arrivals, tops.....) below logo file?

the other thing is that I want to change New products -> new arrivals, special -> top&blouses....etc on the upper menu.

I tried to change include/templates/lite_red/common/tpl_header.php but I couldn't do it.

    Thank you.

Using Developers Tool Kit in Admin > Tools search for 'New Products' (without my quotes), then look for the language files and edit the appropriate define - most likely found in your includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/english.php and some others.

Then change 'New Products' to 'New Arrivals'

Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings

    set Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF to "0"

You have to make yourself familiar with the menus in your Admin folder. Many changes can be made in admin without touching / editing any php coding.

Also, search the forums for similar threads (scroll down to the bottom of this page), read the tutorials and the Wiki (links at the top of this page).

It depends on the template and the changes you want to make.

Stone of Jacob. Before you modify any files, make sure you read and understand the Zen Template overide system. Very good information is available in the FAQ/ Tutorial section. All new Zenners should understand this before trying to change things in files.
If you don't, upgrading to new versions, and future changes can be a nightmare.
If you do understand the template system, all fear should evaporate, because if you open a file and get it really messed up, you can always go back to the original file so that your site works, and try to make your mods again.

Excellent advice! Zen Cart is pretty hard to break if you follow the templating system since you should be able to go back to the original if necessary.
