help question Help on making my store faster

    hello everybody,

This is my first post on this forum and I would appreciate some help or advice , I've been having a lot of headaches trying to speed up my site (http://cuidameplis.com), I've read several posts and implemented some tips like:

    - Query cache module
    - Turn off Category Counts
    - Disable the Manufacturers sidebox
    - Optimized images
    - Disabled Downloads
    - Disabled Price Factor
    - Disabled Qty Price Discount
    - Enable gzip compression

Also I've turn on the parse time and these are the results:

    In the home page
    Parse Time: 4.329 - Number of Queries: 39 - Query Time: 0.0543719388123

    Category page:
    Parse Time: 9.512 - Number of Queries: 92 - Query Time: 0.122688331055

Can somebody help me with this issue

    Thanks everybody

Looks like you covered most areas.

    Check this in case:

How big is your flash file?

The site does seem clunky and slow. Should be no reason for it being like that.

Whats the webost you are on like? Are you on a shared server with someone else hogging with thier database? Can you ask your webhost to ensure it's not slow server performance?
    That wasn't the plan!

Those numbers confirm that the problem is the speed of your hosting server. It's apparently overloaded/oversold (too many customers on the same server) or underpowered (not enough CPU/RAM for the number of customers and processes running on it).

You can't solve this problem by changing settings in Zen Cart. You need a better server.

    Hi Muzz and DrByte,

Thanks for your response, I'm on a shared server at MediaTemple and just added a Grind Container for MySQL to help increase the performance but I didn't help.

Is there something I have to change on the admin side?

Muzz, I follow the steps from that link ... thanks ;)

    Thanks

Your parse times aren't suggesting any problem with the MySQL side. It's the general power of your server that's the problem. Your shared server is overloaded.

As I said before, you CAN'T solve this problem by changing settings in Zen Cart.
