This mod is only for the product pages and that tag should be included for that. If you are using the code on other pages, there's not way to get it to work correctly completely without a lot of work.

No one else has reported this problem so I don't know why you are having it. Is there anything different about those products like product type?
No, the products are very similar, so i was indeed pulling my hairs out
If you google the unable to like problem in combination with the different image posted on facebook then you should be able to do some interesting reads on the problem.
I had the problem that wrong images where posted (ie not the products main image but the image that was listed first under customers also bought...) AND i also had the problem that i couldn't post some of the products at all.
For the product that i couldn't post (actually tested just with 1 product but no doubt there were more if i had persisted) i did notice that it didn't have the customer's also bought section under it.
When i uncommented the section mentioned, both problems were gone:
correct product picture with the facebook post AND all products are now able to be liked. (afaik)
Well, utter cr..... Unfortunately, this is all about utilizing the Facebook code - not manipulating it. The instructions say that meta tag is required.
Also, one of the biggest problems with Facebook is that they are a moving target. Facebook users are well aware that changes abound whether anyone wants them or not. And so goes the utilization of their code.
They did just make changes to the like buttons. When I did this button some months ago, it was necessary so that one could have comments and images posted. Now any like button anywhere posts a similar post instead of just that single line that says so and so likes something. With those recent changes no telling what might be going on. And since most of us don't really know what gets posted every time someone likes anything of ours?
So, thanks for your input. As long as you (the cart owner) get the results you like, that's what it's all about.
Any further changes to the mod I wrote will be dictated by changed instructions from Facebook which has not happened. I've said before I'm not a Facebook developer. I now can say thank heavens I'm not a Facebook developer!
Hey. Firstly, thanks for this mod, this was requested by my client and I don't know what I would have done without it! But I do have an issue...
Everything works fine when I'm logged out of my zen cart, but when use the secure server I get the error message 'The app ID specified within the "fb:app_id" meta tag is not allowed on this domain. You must setup the Connect Base Domains for your app to be a prefix'. I'm quite sure this is down to me using a shared ssl certificate temporarily, therefore the url I entered into the facebook app doesn't match the secure one on my host server (server.hostssl.net/mywebaddress). Assuming I'm right, I just wanted to check... can I assume that once I get the dedicated certificate facebook will be happy that https://www.myaddress.com is the same as http:// and not throw up this error? I imagine you guys are bouncing between secure and non-secure connections with no trouble?
Thanks in advance
You have to alter your settings in Facebook using Insights for the domain. When you are logged into your Facebook admin account, you should have a my apps link on the left hand side. Click on the website address for your like button and edit settings. I think under website there will be a blank where you can put in the base url (no https or www - just the domain name. If I'm wrong, my apologies but this is a Facebook thing!
Hi Delia,
Thanks heaps for putting your work up here for people to use. It's very much appreciated!
I've installed it and have a couple of comments. I used the manual installation as the site is still on 1.3.8
The first is that the Like buttons load very slowly and I can see the status bar message sitting and waiting for Facebook until it finally shows up. I expect this is beyond the control of the mod?
And the other comment is just that there's an error in the readme file: It refers to tpl_product_info.php in a few places, but the file is in fact tpl_product_info_display.php
Thanks again
Rob
