How do I install ZC on yahoo web hosting?

I had someone help me upload ZC and put it on the database, etc. But it isn't working. Does anyone know how to install and get this program working with yahoo web hosting. PLEASE HELP. Well, first of all, there's a thing called "forum etiquette" and part of that etiquette is that you don't post the same thing 3 times within minutes of each other. You won't get instantaneous responses on a forum where people give their time voluntarily and freely.

I'm afraid you've just chosen badly by using Yahoo for hosting of a Zen Cart website.

The install procedure for Zen Cart is as follows (below) and if you've done that and it's not working then Yahoo is the problem.

1. Upload all folders and files in the Zen Cart install to the root of your domain via FTP, or else into a folder.
2. Create a database in your hosting control panel and assign a User Name and Password to it.
3. Go to either www.yourdomain.com/zc_install or www.yourdomain.com/foldername/zc_install - and the first install screen should be visible.
4. From then on you just follow the install procedure.

Please, can someone help me out. I'm really new to all of this. (uploading/ installing ZC and creating a website). I have the latest version of ZC and have purchased a web hosting through Yahoo. Some one has helped me do these next steps but he is stuck on what to do now. I created the user name and passord for the database and created a folder to put ZC in and went through the steps and did the set up in ZC. but nothing is working. I cant log into ZC or even get the page to pop up to let me start editing ZC. It gives me an error message or the site is under construction. when I try to put the URL in below(www.mydomainname.com/shop/admin/login.php)

Please can someone give my advice or let me know what could be wrong.

An actual link to the site might help us figure it out.

You may have an index.html file in the root of your site that's loading before Zencart, but it's hard to say without knowing more and very few people here use Yahoo hosting.

Just to repeat vger's advice - unless you have a long-term paid-up contract with Yahoo (or even if you do), your best bet would be to find another host. Hosts like Yahoo are fine for regular websites, but ecommerce programs like Zencart need more resources and hosting support that understands that.

yep - get a regular host/domain name - does your current site contain yahoo anywhere in the name? If yes they you definitely run the risk of not having your business taken seriously for one thing and should a client want to sue you then, they will most likely want to include yahoo as part of the process - because they see the yahoo name and then yahoo will most likely shut you down because you've just dragged them into a lawsuit.
