help question smtp auth not using password

I have my email options set for smtp auth but realized it's not using the information I have specified.

I tested with an incorrect password and the email still sends and delivers fine using port 25.

Is there something manual that needs to be turned on ?

    Thanks

Is the mail on the server you are on set to require SMTP Auth?

If not, then it will not expect nor need a pass

This is not something setup with ZenCart but rather a method of enabling mail for servers that require it

Yes, It's a cPanel server with Antirelayd disabled.

That does not define how the host has email setup

Sorry about that. I am the server admin for the account.

The sever is set to require smtp authorization.

What other configuration details will help here ?

    Thanks

Quadruple check this as I can not reproduce what you described on one of our servers that requires it
I get a failure if the correct pass is not supplied

    Just checking

I would say something amiss with the email server setup

Yeah, i think so too. Turns out there was a cpanel update and something must have changed. I'll post what I find out.

    Thanks
