Layout not coming consistant

Hi there,

I am newbie to zencart and need your help. I have designed my site using zencart engine and skinned it with a custom template. Problem I am facing at the moment is that the product coming on home page are not consistant. Sometime the products loads just fine and quite often there are empty product spaces. If you refresh the page three times then you will see that products loading are not consistant there are some empty spaces coming in.

Please advise as whether this issue is a layout problem or coming from coding, however I have not changed any coding so far and just skinned zencart with the template.

Your images are way too big (file size, not dimensions) and that may be causing the site to seem like it isn't loading properly. Optimizing your images to less than 20Kb (some are over 1Mb now (!)) should fix the problem.

If images are big in size then index page should show missing images but it leaves the space empty seems like they are not loading, neither the product name appears if image is too heavy to be loaded.

I can't tell from the screenshot what listing you're looking at. A link to the specific page would help.

The only images that aren't loading for me are the subcategory images, which you apparently haven't specified in the category set up.

Well it didnt do it every time, but after refreshing 4 times it blanks out spots which all appear to be random since the blank spots are not always appearing in the same spot.

Is this bottom half only for NEW products? so its checking your new product listing to enter data?

From what I can see at first glance, it appears like stevesh is correct in it relating to certain product images. I kept refreshing to see and it seems its only pertaining to certain categories. Like some of your images are bad.

number one you will definitely want to resize the images. 1mb is huge specially when your loading that many on a page.
secondly, check all your products and make sure those images and products themselves actually work. I had a wierd thing happen to me. google noted that i had issues with my product feed. In my product listing the category was disabled but the product inside it was enabled somehow. On my site the product would pull up but you couldnt actually put it in a cart?

so check through all your products and make sure thier also working and correctly listed.

The only issue I see is a lag on displaying images
This is due to your not optimizing your images for the web One I looked at is:
1,750px × 1,250px (scaled to 200px × 143px)
923.08 KB (945,230 bytes)

Where these only need be approx 6KB

Browsers only display at 72dpi so all extra data is discarded AFTER delivery
