I have the canada post shipping installed and it is acting up.
I have an item worth $115 AUD, at that price the shipping is $100, but if I drop the retail to $102, shipping drops to where it should be, $12 CAD.
Why would this happen?

Maybe you've got something set up in your Canada Post profile for insurance or something?

It is weird. Went to Canada post, and yes there was insurance on items over $100. Removed that, made no difference.
I then tried "free shipping" and installed the free shipping module, and it says "Frfee shipping on this item" but shows a shipping charge (still way too much)
Disabled the free shipping module, and now it shows shipping rates more accurately than ever before, so what I have done.
I check "yes, always free shipping" for this item (www.australiancaching.com/store) gps unit @ $115 AUD and with the free shipping mudule NOT INSTALLED it works.
BUT If I add something else, and the price goes over $150 AUD, it says "free shipping on orders over $150 AUD, yet I can't find anywhere where this is set up to disable it, I can't even remember setting up "free shipping on items over $150???
I can't add it to my cart and test it with paypal because I can't log in, says that account is linked to the store, but I assume paypal is linked same and shipping would be free.

You can't test PayPal transactions using only one account. You need a second account (just a "personal" account is fine) to do that.
I'm not clear on exactly how you've got your shipping set up. You're talking about free shipping and charging for shipping.
If an item is marked Free Shipping, then the Freeshipper module will handle it. That module only adds a charge if you've configured it to do so.
If you've got your store set up to offer free shipping over a certain amount, then ot_shipping is handling that, and if it's adding a charge then you've added a fee there for free shipping.
In both cases Canada Post will not be involved.

This is where it gets confusing, well long ago.
My only shipping is Canada Post.
I tried the free shipping, but it would not isolate it to the one product I have trouble with. I want to be able to use Canada Post and have fixed rate on certain items, but it seems it is one or the other, when I activate the free shipping module, it affects the shipping rates on everything.
Then when I set up the "free shipping" I added the handling charges, when you check out it says "free shipping" but then says shipping charges $12 (or whatever) so it says I have free shipping, but calls the handling charge shipping, which looks crazy.
"Free shipping $12.00"
If this said Free shipping, handling fee $12.00" that would be better.
So what I have had to do is add free shipping and made it for total over $114 (so my $115 item is free) but this can bite me if I get anything else ordered that goes over that number and is expensive to ship.
So how can I offer free shipping for item C and Canada Post for item AB and D?

I seem to recall from my zc 1.3.7 days with Canada Post mod that it didn't make nice with the Free Shipper or Free Shipping Option mods and that those both had to be turned off for C Post to work properly.
The free shipping threshold and toggle are in the Canada post profile. If a free shipping amount is set in that profile, it will go all wonky with other free shipping mods installed. (profile at sellonline.canadapost.ca at top of Shipping Services page)
Could it be you have the $150. set up there?
