how to send different checkout email by payment?

Hi all guys,

I have installed zencart with 2 payment options

• credit card

• Bank Wire Transfer

I haven't test the credit card option because my bank has not provided the daitals yet so now I am just trying to test the bank transfert.

When a product has sold, an email is sent to the customer to inform him that he need to provide the payment.
That is cool.

Then I suppose I need to change in the admin area the status of the order and passing it from pending to delivery or maybe proccessing.

Anyway no success email is sent, but only an update email.

My problem is I need to sent a special email after having sold the product, with instruction. I wish to edit success email template to do that, but I have't understand when success email is sent.

Any suggestion?

For example, if a user pay with bank transfer, I wish to say my client
"Thank you for your interest in our products... please don't forget to pay..."

If a user pay with credit card I wish to say "Thankyou very much...."


I would like also to send differents email that depends from the number of items you have choosen.

If you have bought 2 or more items I wish to send you a special gift or something else...

Please any help would be very apreciated

What I understand is that you would like to send different kind of follow-up emails based on chosen payment method and/or a specific order status.

That can be done with MailBeez:

but requires a custom module. You can build it probably on your own based on the available standard modules.

ok, I have no idea where to tweak this into zen-cart. you just would be able to achieve the same result with MailBeez and a module which watches the Database for orders with:
A) payment bank transfer
B) payment credit card

and then automatically sends different emails A or B.

If you set up a cronjob whichs runs mailbeez every minute your customer would get the email max. 1 minute after they have checked out.

Your checkout email would state "you will shortly receive additional information regarding payment".

MailBeez works "read-only" so there is no modification in your shop-system necessary - which makes updates of zencart much easier and painless.

The MailBeez email module would basically contain a sql query which checks orders in a given timeframe for their payment-type and then generates different types of personalized emails based on templates.

I am sure mailBeez is a great plugin but in this case would need to much work to manage.

it needs I create the cron job, the plugin for the payments method and so on...

Probably there is a faster and simple solution.
