    cart error No Shopping Cart after upgrade 3.8a -> 3.9f

    Hello forum members, I am brand new, please be gentle. I have also done some looking in the FAQs and Docs but haven't really found what I need...

    Ok, so my site was hacked recently. I removed the webstore from the server entirely and then reuploaded a backed-up copy. Then I upgraded to the latest version.. at least my databases are upgraded, the admin section still says 3.8a which confuses me. I am sure I did not do this properly.



    This is my first experience upgrading / installing Zen Cart - it existed when I took over the website a year ago.

    So now the problem is that I can see all my products but I cannot click "buy now" or add anything to the cart. I get a blank white screen on IE and Firefox.

    Not sure how to resolve? Any help would be appreciated. I can provide more details if you need them

    A blank white screen appears when you have a PHP error, and error_reporting turned off. There is an error_reporting module you can install which will then echo out rerrors into a log file.

    This can be found here.

    This should then point you in the right direction for where the errors are coming from.

    NOTE: if upgraded to the v1.3.9x series ... you should already have the Debug Tool installed as this is built in and you just need to check the directory /cache ...

    Hi everyone,

    Thanks for your replies. I found the debugger and managed to get through the rest of the install using that and some more of the FAQs - which really are awesome. I went with the latest 3.9g and everything is grand.

    there were some of the changed files I needed to update - extra carriage returns at the end of files, stuff like that. simple stuff. my css wasn't showing and I made the proper template edits with a tutorial from DrByte, i believe.

    I feel like I could do it in my sleep, now!
