Confirmation emails sporadic

Using Zen-cart v1.3.9e for some time with no issues. However over the last few days some of the order confirmation emails have not arrived. All the corresponding PayPal notifications have arrived.
All orders are listed when checking ZenCart Admin -->Customers-->Orders.


I sent 10 consecutive emails to the address used for order confirmations and all arrived quickly with no issues. So it would seem the issue is the creation or sending process is failing from time to time.

I checked the log files and no warnings are posted.

Its hosted by Godaddy.

Do you have e-mail archiving enabled? That's in your admin's Configuration->E-mail Options->E-Mail Archiving Active setting. If it's set to true, then a copy of every e-mail your store sends is kept in your database.

Then, there's an add-on called "E-Mail Archive Manager" that plugs into your admin Tools section that will allow you to view them. Another alternative is to use your store's phpMyAdmin (or whatever your hosting company supplies to allow you to manage your SQL database) and view the entries in the email_archive. Either will allow you to see what your store "thought" it sent.

Email Archiving is disabled.

So it would seem that there would be two possible outcomes from enabling email archiving:

1. The archive is also missing the emails.
2. The archive does contain the missing emails.

What then?

I ran a test. From Admin -->tools--> send email
I sent several consecutive emails each numbered.
This time I sent them to another email address serviced by an unrelated server. Again, only about half of them arrived.

Any ideas?
