warning message visible to the public

Having upgraded via my host to 1.3.9d, I am having trouble upgrading the database to match this new version.

Unfortunately, the red warning message from ZenCart is visible to the public at the top of my homepage and I don't know how to hide it - any ideas? please.

I think these kind of warning messages should be banned from front end of the store (maybe in a future release of zen). Show them in the admin but not in the store itself.

Please elaborate on what you mean by "upgraded via my host".

You should NEVER use a "one-click" upgrade: it will break things.
