Default Additional Product Images - Layout Question

    Hello, all.

I've utilized ZenCart's built-in method for displaying additional product images, and they are displaying in my product page and in Fual Slimbox, as intended.

I don't know what the default ZC behavior is for additional images, but with my template and use of the Column Divider Pro contrib, these images show up at the very bottom of the page, under the product description and add to cart button area.

They are certainly good as is, but may not be displayed as aesthetically as they could be, especially if there are not enough images to fully fill out the Divider Pro grid (it leaves blank sections in the grid).

So I was wondering, is there a method or other contribution that might allow the additional images to be displayed as small thumbnails immediately under the main image, similar to the way they are laid out on Amazon.com (see attached image)?

    Thank you!

Look in Free Addons for Additional Product Images - there is at least one mod that directly addresses your question, and others may as well.

If you just edit your includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php then move the block of code that relates to the additional images up higher in the file. That'll bring them closer to where you want them.

    Thanks, folks.

All the contribs I found while searching either dealt with the manner by which to get additional images loaded, or with positioning. Limelites, I considered editing my files to relocate them as you suggested, but neither method - either contrib or editing wise, would address the thumbnail question as far as I can tell.

    Am I missing something?

Maybe the Ajax Image Swapper mod will be of interest to you.

If you want the additional image thumbnails to be very small (smaller than basic small images), make them the size you want them. They will still show the large image version when clicked.

Thanks, Glenn, but it looks like that contrib is no longer located in the Add-On section. I did find the support link in the forum, but the external download link is no longer active. While people seem to still be posting there, the author's last post was exactly a year ago.

I think I'll try hacking around at my files to see if I can get what I'm looking for.

    Look at this

I put the additional images at the side but exactly the same applies if you wanted them underneath.

If its what your after just let me know and i'll post up the code.

"Additional Images Relocated with CSS" does a large part of what you want, and you can tweak that to get the row of thumbnails.

Or you could just move the additional images code block as limelites suggested, and style it in your stylesheet.
Either way, you would also need to actually make the additional image thumbnails small in pixel size.
