Remove Right column on front page only - increase centercolumn width

Hi - I didn't see this anywhere.

I'd like to make my index page have only a left hand column and center column and remove the right column entirely, but only on the index page, not the other pages.

Next up, I'd like to switch the manufacturer info to the center, the notifications as well, and the tell a friend to the left?

AND wait there's more. In the header, I'd like the navMain div to move where the nanMainSearch box is and vice versa.

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks so much in advance.

Have a look at all the optional conditions in tpl_main_page.php
What you want is already there - just enable/uncomment it

I'm not sure it's a good idea to move so many things around from page to page. People expect to see nav elements in the same place. I could understand moving right column items to the center when the right column is gone on the homepage.

I know what you mean...however ZenCart already does this as it comes "out of the box". The elements I am speaking of moving are only presented once one has added items to their cart. Different right columns items do come up depending on conditions.

True navigational elements will always appear in the correct places, such as the navCatTabs and the category sidebox. These would stay in place from page to page to page.

As for the search and home/login/cart etc in the top bar of the header, once this change is made, it would stay that way across the site, as it would be part of the header.

I am using the latest version of Zen Cart. And I just really adore Zen Cart and am so grateful for Open Source :) I must say.

I forgot something...I have already used the layout boxes controller to remove all right column elements from the front page and I think this applies to the rest of the site as well, no? So the end result should be consistent, I think. :)
