ZenId persists when using IP address for domain name

I have recently moved a site from a development server to what will become the real server once we move the domain names.

On the development server the URLs behave as I'd expect - with the zenid visible until the first click. On the new server they are persistent.

Nothing has really changed between the two installs apart from evidently the configure.php files.

So, either I have made an error on the configure files, or there is a problem with using a numeric IP address or there is something in the server configuration that is different.

Has anyone any thoughts?

PHP version 5.2.9 - Zen Cart version 1.3.9f - cache folder is writable hmm, what else might be helpful?

There are some quirks which exist when using only an IP address as the domain name. But, since one never runs a live ecommerce site using only an IP address, it's moot. Those issues will go away when you replace the IP address with an actual domain name.

Additionally, be sure to clear your browser cache and cookies when you switch to using the real domain name.
