Columns per Row

I'm having a problem with adding additional columns. When I read this thread http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63059 I downloaded the product_listing.php file, replaced it and followed the rest of the instructions. However, when I did that, it removed all my product listings. Could you please tell me how to change my product listings to 3 columns per row?

I downloaded the product_listing.php file, replaced it and followed the rest of the instructions.

Did you apply the sql patch?
Did you set it for columns and not rows?

If you do not see tht option then you have not installed it correctly

Hello, thanks for your reply! Yes I did apply the sql patch, but when I did that and went to change the Layout, I see "Product Listing - Layout Style". However, when I press edit, it doesn't give me the option to select anything.

All I see is :
Product Listing - Layout Style
Please make any necessary changes

Product Listing - Layout Style
Select the layout style:<br />Each product can be listed in its own row (rows option) or products can be listed in multiple columns per row (columns option)

It didn't provide me with any selections. What am I doing wrong?

There was one line of instruction that read:
- Upload the new product_listing.php to ZEN_CART_HOME_DIR/includes/modules/YOURTEMPLATE/product_listing.php

I didn't find my template under "modules" but I saw a "product_listing.php" in modules, so I just replaced that file. The other file is in the correct spot. Could that be the case?

I didn't find my template under "modules"

Create it and place new file there and then you will need to restore the original

I just did that, and nothing changed =( Am I supposed to do anything with the "product_listing.php.bak" file that is in the folder? I restored the product listing with the one I had before.

If you created a folder named for your template the files from the addon is uploaded there

The original goes back where it belongs

But that is what I did =( Is there a way to start all over again? Which means some how removing the SQL and everything?

no need to remove the sql

Just FTP the files to where they belong

Okay, I uninstalled and reinstalled ZC and then did the process all over again. This time I was able to select columns but my products are still showing up in rows. I'm currently using the default template. Please check here. www.oembargain.com/index.php

I am seeing 1 column with 1 per row

Look for setting for # per row

Here are my Product Listing settings:
Product Listing - Layout Style columns
Product Listing Descending Sort Order -
Product Listing - Columns Per Row 3

However, nothing is changing...

I wonder if this add on does not work any more with it being for zen cart 1.3.8?

I tried two versions. The 1.3.8 version untouched and my edits to upgrade the one file that has changes from the 1.3.9g fileset.

Neither worked :(

The mod works fine with all the latest versions of Zen I use it on every site I create. You are doing some thing wrong when uploading the module. If you can see the columns option in your admin that means your SQL is fine..so the problem is in the files.

My guess would be you upload the product listing file to the wrong location....you need to make sure it is in the directory for your theme.....

It says to create a folder for your theme if it's not already there, is this folder supposed to be named a certain name for the server to know it's for the certain theme? Is there supposed to be other files in the folder as well once we create the folder?
