    Default HELP:New and totally confused

    Hello everyone,
Ok so I was asked to design a website for a woman who is using a zen cart. Someone else set the actual cart up on her hosting and all of that for her, all I needed to do was tweek the template and upload so that I can apply the template on her admin page. However every time I try to upload it from at the includes like it's telling me to I get an immediate failed upload with a 550 Create directory operation failed.

I looked at the admin/includes/config.php file and its set to read only but i can't even change it. every time i do try to change it reverts right back to read only. Is this what is causing the problem???

    this is driving me insane.

I attempted to install my own zen cart on my hosting plan and it didn't work either. I went through all the steps but when I got to the end and was ready to go to my admin page it keeps taking me back to the install page saying that either i didn't install correctly or my config.php files are configured right. I followed instructions step by step but nothing is working.

I really want to figure this problem out, especially for the website I'm working on for this woman. I've googled, bing and searched high and low for answers but I can't find any. Someone please help me.

    1. After installing Zen Cart either delete or rename the zc_install folder. If you don't do that then you will continue to see the "Install" screen.

    2. You download a configure.php file via FTP and edit it offline in a plain text editor. Then, before you upload it again, you make the file permissions of the online file 644, so that it can be overwritten. Then, after you have uploaded the changed file, you change the permissions of the online file back to 444 or 400.

    3. If you installed Zen Cart via Fantastico then you can only edit file permissions by using the File Manager in cPanel.

    4. If you are uploading a new template to the inclures/templates/ folder then you are not "creating" a director/folder. You are uploading an existing one.
