Problems changing configure.php after installation

Hi everybody,

I'm new to Zen-Cart. I want to create a virtual store for my business, and therefor tried WP, Drupal and now zen-cart (I decided to try it for it's simplicity of use).

I followed all the installation instructions, and made it through installation, however, I can't seem to upload the modified version of my configure.php in admin/includes after installation. It says 550 access denied.

I changed my permission level on the file via my cPanel, so it's not CHMOD.

I'm kinda lost, and would really appreciate any type of help.

On the server change the name of the file from configure.php to something without the .php like
configure.orig
Then upload with FTP your edited file

It worked, I managed to upload my new version, and now I can't seem to access my admin. I get a 500 error. Am I supposed to enter to a specific page? I searched and couldn't find any reference other then type in http://mydomainname.co.il/mynewadminfolder

Thanks a lot! It took a couple of days until I got permission to see the log files.

I looked through them, but found nothing that seems like an error. Is there anything specific I should look for?

These log files should only be errors...
What logs are you viewing?
