Edittng Product Options After Purchase

I sell a downloadable product (embroidery designs), offered in a variety of formats. The customer needs to check which formats they want but sometimes they don't check any.

I either need to:
- Let them know they didn't select a format before checking out (preferred)
- Change the order afterwards to enable downloads (preferred)
- Enable a default format so they at least have one (doing that now)
- Enable all the formats and let them choose after downloading (OK, if could track which formats they are downloading)

I have installed Order Edit mod but what I really need to do is edit a specific product to add in the formats they want. If I re-add the product, even if it is currently on sale, it comes in at the full price. I don't want to charge them again. Is there a way to change to price without using phpMyAdmin?

Also, when the change is made via Order Edit whether or not you click the Update button and I don't know how to remove the newly added product.

I'd rather not have all the formats checked by default and let them choose after purchase. I'd really like to track which formats they choose, so I can target specific groups of customers.

Or, is there an easy way to let them know they have not selected a format during checkout?

For the moment I am emailing their orders but this means they can't download them in the future if they need to.

Your Option Name is using Checkboxes right now ... I would use either a Radio Button list or Dropdown list ...

Set up an addition Option Value for:
Option Name: Available Formats
Option Value Name: Pick your format ...
Default Sort Order: 0

Add it to all of your Download Products ...

Then set it as:
Display Only: YES
Default: YES
Sort Order: 0

Now the customer will be forced to pick the right format or they cannot add the Product to the shopping cart ...

One more question... If I set to drop down, how do they select more than one?
