Default Going backwards from modifying classis to making your own theme

Hey guys, I have been reading about not changing the master files for your store, but creating a theme so that when you upgrade you don't loose your work.

Is there a easy way to create your theme if you already modified the classic template and your store?

sorry for the newbie question. but thanks!

You can just go ahead and create your CUSTOM template folders (everywhere you see a Classic template, and at the same level), then copy all the files you've edited from each Classic folder to the corresponding CUSTOM folder.

Remember, even though the Classic template is enabled by default, it isn't the default_template. It's just an example of a custom template.

The reason you want to create your custom template is so you can upgrade to a new Zencart version. Upgrades will often overwrite the Classic folders and files, but not your custom templating stuff.
