Customer Time Out?

Is there a way that we can increase the amount of time a customer can stay idle until they are logged out? Thank you!

The default is 24 minutes, which is 1440 seconds, so if you were to use the Developers Tool Kit to search for 1440, ...

This question comes up every now and then, and I wonder if a customer needs more than 24 minutes, maybe the site is difficult to navigate ?

Nowadays I know a lot of people, myself included may go online while at work or using their cellphones. So many times more than 24 minutes will pass before you can complete your transaction.

That is 24 minutes of non-activity ...

If I was at work/coffee house/etc. and shopping online and logged in, I would sure hope that my session timed out when I got called away from the computer so that someone couldn't get into my account ...

Good point! I never thought about that.

Well I've adjusted it for now as I'm still configuring my store. As soon as I'm done I'll reset the time out settings.
