Additional info fields

I tried searching the tutorials on this and could not find anything. I need to have some custom fields in my checkout system. I sell transmission parts and will need to know year, make and model on each customers car in order to ship the appropriate part.

Is there a way to add these fields to whatever page gathers their information? Or is there a better place to put these fields?

No....for instance you may need a 4L60E valve body, well if you need it for a car that is older than say 1996, you need one style, if it is newer you need another style...while the basics of your transmission stay the same, there are still small changes made in newer cars that have computers, such as the wiring harness, the number of bolts, number of solenoids, etc. So, I need to know the year, make and model of your car to make sure I send the proper part.

So is there a way to add these additional fields??

Add text box attributes to your products, can make them required if needed
