new to this whole thing, help!

All i need to do is setup a very simple site to sell 3 products. i dont need to change much once it is set up, i dont anticipate running promotions and having sales and the like. i just need a simple merchant site to sell 3 products. i have looked at volusion and go daddy but i don't want to pay their monthly fees and get stuck with a lot of bells an whistles that i dont need. so i am here. the problem is i know nothing about how this works. at all. i clicked the download button on the zen cart site (zen cart is highly recommended by a trusted acquaintance) and now i have no idea what to do. i have poured over the FAQ's, googled stuff to learn what i can, but its all greek to me. even the FAQ stuff is over my head as i dont have a foundation of this stuff. My question is, am i better off going to volusion or something like that? or can i figure this out? and if i can, can somebody help?

I guess your best bet may be to write up your specs (as simple as possible), post your request in the Commercial Help Wanted section of this forum and pay someone to do the job for you.

You should also realize that everyone here, including the Zencart developers, were once where you are now, knowledge-wise.

This stuff isn't that difficult to learn, and there's a lot of satisfaction figuring it all out.

Actually, you're in a better position than most, since you need a really simple Zencart site right now. You can just learn the basics and tackle the more complicated stuff after you're up and running.
