    red flag Coupons to customers that aren't signed up

    Hi I'm just wondering if there's a way to send coupons to customers that aren't signed up to the cart yet? This can be done with gift certificates but not with coupons. Is there a mod for this? I need to send a coupon to old customers that used a different cart to zen.

    Did you look in the Dropdown where it has listed the number of Customers that have not ordered as one of the selections?

    Hi That is my problem. These customers were exported from a previous shopping cart database. It is possible for me to import the email addresses and contact details into the database but then this creates another problem as they will have to go through the sign up process and when they get to input the email address they will get an error warning saying that email address is already signed up.

    The shop was built previously with a cart called Get Trolleyed. This was very basic but did its job and this year it was decided that the cart should be migrated to zen. Problem is that the customers that shopped on the previous Get Trolleyed shopping cart are not yet signed up as customers in the zen cart shopping cart even though they're customers.

    I need to offer these customers a 15% discount with a coupon or gift certificate. The gift certificate admin has the ability to email out to email addresses not yet signed up through a text entry box however doesn't allow percentages. The coupon admin has the ability to send percentages but doesn't allow me to send to customers not yet signed up through the cart. So if they're email addresses, addresses, telephone etc aren't stored I cannot send an email to them.

    I need some way to get this coupon out to these customers that don't yet have their details stored in the zen database. any ideas?

    Personally I would look at the Recommended Services link at the top of the page for a email software or use something in the Free Software Add Ons such as MailChimp and send a mailing to customers who have opted in to be contacted by you via email and include a Discount Coupon code in the mailing ...

    You really are better off using a proper emailing software or service rather than using your Zen Cart Admin as there are many limitations that your hosting provider may have concerning emails ...

    Things like MailChimp also helps in managing mailings so that customers can opt-in or opt-out with the least amount of problems ...

    Ok so how would I ensure that the Discount Code in the email using mailchimp was correct? would I create a dummy email to myself and then copy the link?

    Also are there any plans for a better mailing system in zen?

    And is mailchimp free?

    Doesn't matter I have my answer from Dr Byte. Apologies for creating what looked like two posts but they were originally regarding separate issues that then ended up being a part of the same problem.
