    Default Small problem with mailing a gift certificate

    Hi, I tried to email a customer a gift certificate today for the first time, and even though the system reported the email as being sent, her GV balance is still zero.

    I tried emailing myself a GV and it didnt come through either. (this is all from selecting a customer in the dropdown list)

    I then manually typed in an email and was able to successfully send a GV to myself.

    Can anyone think of why the emails aren't going through to those customers in the dropdown list?

    P.S; I notice that when using the dropdown to send the GV, the system message comes up and says;

    Notice: Email sent to: [email protected](0)

    But when typing the address in manually it says;

    Notice: Email sent to: [email protected](2) - which i assume is counting the customer email and the Admin notification email.

    In leiu of fixing the above problem, is it ok to simply enter the customer ID and GV amount via phpMyAdmin into the coupon_gv_customer table?

    I cannot reproduce the problem ...

    I can send an GV from either the dropdown or by entering the email address manually ...

    What version of Zen Cart are you using?

    Clean install or an Upgrade?

    What happens if you try to send yourself a GV again ...

    Hi Linda, the store has been upgraded a few times from 1.3.8a, currently running 1.3.9f

    Ive noticed a couple of things -

    if i try to email somone in the list that contains; lastname, firstname, email - it doesnt work.

    But we have the newsletter subscription mod installed, and anyone with an email address only can be sent a GV email.

    I dont mind going straight into phpMyAdmin and manually entering a GV amount into the coupon_gv_customer table - would i have to enter data anywhere else?

    There is a process on sending a GV from the Admin to track the GV ...

    Doing this manually is not a solution ...

    Fixing the real problem is the solution ...

    I would compare your /admin on the server to a clean /admin from a clean checkout of Zen Cart ...

    NOTE: we are on v1.3.9h and it would be a good idea to upgrade to it and most likely would help find the problem ...

    Hi Linda, what you say makes sense, I just don't have time to upgrade the store right now.

    i think i'll email myself the gift certificate and forward it to the customer.
