no_picture.gif gets deleted with items

I'm aware of that, but the deletion of the products was done w/o the aid of EP, and if the gif is more of a Zen Cart item than an EP item, then it may be closer to being a bug w/ Zen Cart, as a gif is being deleted simply because products using the gif are being deleted. The gif is then not there for the next product that comes along that needs a no_pic placeholder -- it ends up being a miniscule hyperbar-looking thing/area.

Granted, maybe EP is responsible for all this behavior, but if that's the case, then EP is breaking a core design of Zen -- the placeholder gif availability.

Did you specify "no_picture.gif" for your product images? If so, then Zen Cart is going to treat that as though you intentionally gave that image name for your products, and thus is going to follow your instructions to delete it when you delete the products using it.

Simple solution: if you have no image for a product, leave the image field blank. Then Zen Cart won't delete something you don't want it to delete.
