I set up the Free Shipping Option for six items or more (>=) but it shows up with fewer items and is the default selection. Free shipping is only for six or more items and shold not be available for orders of less than six items. Am I doing something wrong or is it not working with the current 1.3.9h or Flat Rate Clones, which I also have installed. In the meantime, I have disabled it.
Free Options is used to display a Free Shipping option when other Shipping Modules are displayed. It can be based on: Always show, Order Total, Order Weight or Order Item Count. The Free Options module does not show when Free Shipper is displayed.
Setting Total to >= 0.00 and <= nothing (leave blank) will activate this module to show with all shipping modules, except for Free Shipping - freeshipper.
NOTE: Leaving all settings for Total, Weight and Item count blank will deactivate this module.
NOTE: Free Shipping Options does not display if Free Shipping is used based on 0 weight is Free Shipping. See: freeshipper
Now, how do I change the text that reads free shipping to free standard shipping (6+ items) or something close? Is it includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/freeoptions.php?
You are most welcome ... thanks for the update that you have this working and for posting the solution to changing the language file ... that is always a great help to others ...
If I may change topics a bit here, I originally had two cloned shipping modules, ground and air. Since there was no reason to define then further, basically, that's what they were labeled.
Today, I installed ground to UK, air to UK, ground to rest of world, air to rest of world and air with 6+ items.
I went back into the original two and cannot get them to say ground to US and Air to US on the shipping page.
I've cleared cache.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled them from the admin panel.
I 'touched' the includes/modules/shipping to see if that made a difference.
I checked in a browser that had never been to the site before.
The only thing I haven't done is delete them from the server.
You originally had two cloned shipping modules ... what were these cloned shipping modules and what are their names now?
You then added a bunch more what did you call them?
If you see all of the shipping modules in the Admin in the Modules ... Shipping ... and can see the right panel and the line below all of the modules that starts with:
Module Directory:
what are the Sort Orders on your shipping modules? Check that they are either all set to 0 or ... that they each have a unique Sort Order and none are set to 0 ...
The original two cloned flat shipping modules:
flatground
flatair
I later used these to create:
flatgrounduk
flatairuk
flatgroundrow
flatairrow
flatairrow6
All show up in the shipping admin panel and are numbered 1-8 in the order they appear above with the freeoption being 7. The first two have not changed names.
All eight shipping modules show up in the admin and in the shipping portion of checkout. It's just that the edit I did on the first two, specifying 'to US' is not appearing in the checkout page. They appear in the admin page..
About the only thing I haven't tried is to remove them, delete from server, upload again and re-install.
The way I read it, zones are going to be problematic. Theoretically, a nice 5x3 table should work, but I don't see that working either in the current system.
You have all of these shipping modules:
flatground
flatair
flatgrounduk
flatairuk
flatgroundrow
flatairrow
flatairrow6
Are the first 2 for the US and the next 2 for the UK and the last 3 for the Rest of the World?
If so, then make a Zone Definition for the US and a Zone Definition for the UK and a Zone Definition for the Rest of the World ... then add the Zone Definitions to the shipping modules ...
Now the US can only see the first 2 and the UK can only see the next 2 and the Rest of the World sees the last 3 ...
I would search the Tutorials/FAQs and Wiki and the forums on:
Zones
Zones are designed to "filter" what addresses are able to use various Payment, Shipping and Order Total modules ...
As to why things are not showing in the Catalog that you see in the Admin ... good question ...
If you don't know about Zones, then it sounds like you do not have any Zone filters set yet ...
Do all the shipping modules have the green dot or the yellow dot?
NOTE: if they have the red dot, they are not installed ...
Also check that each one has the Enable set to true ...
I am not quite sure where the reference to currencies fits in here on shipping ... but you might make a separate post on questions about currencies ...
What version Zen Cart are you running?
Clean Install or an Upgrade? If an Upgrade, what did you Upgrade from?
Can you check that both of the configure.php files, on the server, are using the same database:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php
