Default Unable to do local copy

    I am desperate...

I have been the whole day trying to make a local copy of my zencart site... without success.

I have version 1.3.8a running. It runs perfectly on the server.

I have installed XAMPP 1.4.16 (I also tried 1.7.1 and 1.7.3, but they have PHP 5.3) and then, I have followed the steps explained in the wiki, mainly:

    1.- Backup my SQL DB
2.- Backup my entire site via cpanel of my hosting provider
3.- Create new DB in local and install a "fresh" 1.3.8a zencart
4.- Once the new DB is created and the new zc installed, I copy and paste the backup of my entire site (except both configures, of course).
5.- In phpmyadmin I erase the entire content of the db and import the backup of my live zc.

... and all I get is a blank page in both admin and store...

After aprox 20 tries (maybe more) this is driving my crazy... I would appreciate any help you can provide me with.

    Thanks.

This works if you follow the directions. Use your ftp program to download your site to your PC.

Those are the same instructions explained in the wiki. I have followed them once again right now and the result is quite similar... I get an Error 500.

Any other ideas. Please I do not know what to do. There is so much work involved in my live zencart that I cannot start again...

    Thanks.

    UPDATE:

I have tried also with WAMP (PHP 5.2.0 / Apache 2.0.54 / MySQL 5.0.37) and I also get an error 500.

    Please any ideas?

    Thanks.

When it says "Download all your old site's files via FTP", what I am downloading is the public_html directory, which is the one with the zencart content (not all the site).

And the above is what I upload to the "store" directory in XAMPP or to www in WAMP.

    Is that correct?

    This is me:

    Another Update:

I have done every step and instead of uploading the entire copy of the FTP, I have done it file by file (crazy, but I am desperate).

I think that the problem has to do with the folder "auto_loaders", both in includes and in my template.

If I do not copy said folder, and I deactivate my template (with its own auto_loaders), it works....

What can be causing the problem? Any idea of what can I do to have an exact copy of my live shop?

    Thanks.

The instructions if followed are correct. I just downloaded and locally installed my three sites and one historical version yesterday.

Google the 500 server error message or search this forum.

    Cheers~

Well... after a few days and dozens of tries I know what happened... I will post it in case it helps someone in the future and saves time.

The problem was both WOZ and FEC. For some reason, the steps to copy the content are the following:

    1.- Copy the admin folder
2.- Copy the languages folder in includes.
3.- Enter in admin and disable WOZ and FEC.
4.- Copy the rest of the files.
5.- Enter in admin and activate again WOZ an FEC.

That was the solution for me... It took days to find it...
