    Default Taking it Live

Hi, I'm trying to upload my local version of my shop.

I firstly downloaded ZenCart from this site (this morning), created a template and worked locally on the shop using Mamp, I then uploaded all of the files onto the web, copied the SQL to the server but just faced with the following page:

    http://www.chichairandbeauty.co.uk/mifsuds/

Any ideas? Looked around but can't seem to find a great deal.

Did you change /includes/configure.php and /<youradmin>/includes/configure.php to reflect your "real" store instead of your MAMP installation?

You can copy your current MAMP version of the files to /includes/local/configure.php and /<youradmin>/includes/local/configure.php, respectively, so that you can use the same "install" both locally and hosted (just don't copy the /local directories to your hosted install!).

Hi, yes I seem to think that I have but maybe I have done something incorrectly. Would you mind if I sent you the file and then you could take a look? I could mail it to you if that's easier?

I simply copied and pasted all of the files in htdocs in MAMP and put them onto the server...is this incorrect? Should I install the site on the remote site and then configure the database to the same as that on my local machine?

Copying and pasting all the files from your MAMP installation is close, but no cigar! You need to edit the two configure.php files that I mentioned before to identify the web- and file-access paths for your hosted files as well as the hosted version of your database.

If you just copied them up to your server, your MAMP installation (which can be kept in the /local subdirectory for local use/debug), is pointing the browser (and ZC processing) to localhost instead of www.yourdomain.com as well as the local version of the database.

You also need to export your local version of the database (via phpMyAdmin) and then use your hosting company's cPanel to import that data into the hosted version of the database.
