can I do options for items like in this example?

I am considering using zencart and want to know if items can have options like in this example

if yes, what is required? is it a basic feature of zencart or are 3rd party plug ins needed? is it hard to set up?

That site has some customized styling, tabs and other stuff added, but the attributes are exactly the same function as stock Zen Cart. Look for Attributes in the tutorials for information on using them.
