I'm now having a different issue, i really want to have left AND right columns. I changed all the settings and moved the boxes to the right, but the headingsa are coming up in a dark purple and the column itself is a bright blue. I've attached a screenshot.

If you download the latest version of the template you will see that it is now a 2 or 3 column layout. The earlier versions were only 2 column layouts. If you want to make your current version a 3 column layout you will need to copy the styles for the left column to the right column.

Ok, got that fixed, now for some reason the right and left columns keep changing sizes depending on what page i'm on. Is there any way to make them the same size always?

If you look closely at the recommended admin settings you will see that you need to put the "px" after the width in the layout settings for column right and left width and sidebox left and right width.

One more thing... when i click on the 'specials' link in the footer, there is NO center column, something isn't right :) here's a link to the page http://www.lunabugsoap.com/index.php?main_page=specials

Nothing will show in the specials centerbox until you designate some products as specials in your admin.

The demo does not do this and I installed the template on a fresh zen cart to double check and it does not behave that way either. The problem must be caused by a customization that you have made. See the demo here:

Hello Anne ,

I hope you are not getting tired of my questions.

Now I'm trying to change the text appearance for the top categories, i have found in the code it is looking for a style named 'category-top' however i cannot find anywhere that this style is defined.
