hi, I', wondering if it's possible to import pixmania pros csv in to zencart?

The csv file is here pixmania.com/comp/PixPro/fichiers/ie/revendeur_ie.csv

The fields are divided by semi-colons and represent the following:

    A - Category
    B - Sub Category
    C- Sub category
    D- Internal reference code
    E - Brand
    F- Title/model
    G- Description
    H- Price after discount
    I - Standard delivery costs
    J - Price before discount
    K - Picture
    L - Availability
    M - Volumetric weight
    N - Weight

Directly? No. You will have to map the fields to the appropriate tables in the Zen Cart database.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

thanks for your reply. Does one need to be pretty familiar with databases and php to do that? Or is it pretty simple? Thanks.

Did you ever get an answer? or is there some easier method to import the Pixmania feed. Perhaps this is a challenge for all those clever developers!

I really want to import the PixMania-Pro CSV file. But it's a very large file over 15000 products and images.

    http://www.pixmania.com/comp/PixPro/.../thinkdeal.csv

The thought of even trying to import the file with Easy Populate 1.2.5.5 leaves me cold. It would take ages to cut and paste all the relevant data into the Easy Populate template spreadsheet and then grab all the images with wget. But even if I did this, how in the world would I manage the data. On the next import I would want to delete absent products, update changed or amended products, and add new products. Then to make matters more complex I have multiple vendors / suppliers (well more than one).

If I purchased MagneticOne Store Manager would this software give me what I want? In the meantime I am checking out Apsona ShopAdmin but I doubt if their import system will suffice. I imagine I really need a bespoke system and that sounds expensive. Anybody help!

Nobody seems to be responding to this thread but given that I mentioned Apsona ShopAdmin I thought I should update the forum with my latest information about them.

After a really interesting conversation with Sridhar from apsona.com I can announce that really great things are happening with their ShopAdmin module. Further improvements to their product import system are planned in the next few weeks. And whilst I will let them announce the particular details relating to these enhancements ... I can say they are looking at addressing many of the problems we all face when we try to import and manage huge files like the PixMania-Pro CSV file.

In other words install the current version of ShopAdmin and then sit back and wait for developments. It's all going to be good news.

I may not be much help here but 15K products doesn't seem too large to me. The flat file you have should be adaptable using a SQL statement or even pHp MyAdmin. Have you ever used pHp MyAdmin? The Zen database is rather simple to follow but I guess maybe a better alternative would be Easy populate so you don't get caught up with modifying one table dependent on another. The pro version used a "~" sybol to designate categories and it is possible to build an adaptable load file using office. Just my 2 cents don't know if I've really helped or not but maybe you have a start.

    Hi Paul69

It's great to get a response. Thank you.

I will look at PHP MyAdmin but I think it might be beyond my abilities.

I use Easy Populate 1.2.5.5 to import a smaller file from another supplier but I didn't even know there was a Pro version of Easy Populate. Where can I look at this?

I still have my fingers crossed that my friends in apsona.com with their ShopAdmin product will come up with the answers in the next few weeks.

But thank you again for at least responding.

thinkdeal - As you indicate, we are working out the details for the missing features in the ShopAdmin import facility. I hope it won't take more than a couple of weeks to complete the tasks.

Thanks so much for all your help!

    Regards.

You can find the "Pro" version of Easy populate by searching but it does cost a little bit. I needed it to post products with the same part number in multiple categories. The pro version has the ability to load using the "ID" as opposed to the older version which uses the part number it self. I'm not trying to sell you on it it just worked out well for me especially with all the categories as well as I mass uploaded those too. I used pHp Admin for quite some time as a matter of fact I loaded the first load to my store using it alone simply by following the database map. REMEMBER! No matter what you use make sure you back up your database and if you're unsure how get with your service provider as they should be able to assist you. You can get it at the following link I guess it is called "Advanced" not pro but this is what I had to use.
